On Ord Mantell, the Bad Batch receive an urgent message from Captain Rex requesting their expertise for a covert mission to Coruscant to extract some crucial data.

The former capital of the Galactic Republic, Coruscant is now the central hub of the Imperial regime. Far below the surface cities, on Level 1313 they reunite with Rex and Senator Riyo Chuchi of Pantora and are escorted into a secure building. On the table before them lies a body bag containing the remains of the clone assassin who killed Slip.

Without Slip, Chuchi has no one to testify to what really happened on Kamino and the senate will never listen to deserters. But Admiral Rampart's ship contains the command log that would serve as irrefutable proof. Luckily, Slip made a copy on the ship's backup databanks.

Omega escorts Chuchi to the Imperial Senate building. In secret, the pair meet with Bail Organa, who suggests they seek the cooperation of Halle Burtoni, the former representative from Kamino, ahead of the crucial vote on Rampart's Defense Recruitment Bill.

Omega and Riyo meet with Burtoni, who seems intrigued by the young girl. "I was there. I saw the Empire destroy everything," Omega tells her. "And I'm angry."

Meanwhile, at the shipyard the Bad Batch are gathering concrete proof of Rampart's misdeeds. Stowing away on a hover lift, the Batch nearly collide with Rampart's ship, dropping onto the deck at the last instant. Quickly, they make their way through the corridors of the ship, using their stealth to stun the handful of clones manning the bridge.

With the energy conduits offline, Tech discovers that he'll have to reroute power to retrieve the data, signaling their security breach. Soon the bridge is swarming with soldiers as air support is scrambled outside. Gunships and V-wings circle the area unleashing a barrage of fire. When Tech's transfer is complete, Echo activates the ship's thrusters and the bridge begins to quake.

The ship lurches forward, freeing itself from the joists that kept is docked, and sending everything onboard into disarray as the vessel sinks to the ground. But the Batch hide in an escape pod, launching themselves clear of the chaos where they access a maintenance hatch.

The next morning, the Imperial Senate convenes to vote on the Imperial Defense Recruitment Bill and Chuchi levels the public charges against Rampart, alleging that he diverted Kaminoan funding to outside projects without Senate approval.

The senate is aghast at Riyo's allegations, demanding she be censured when she fails to provide more proof than Halle Burtoni's word. Just in time, the Batch deliver the recovered command logs to Bail Organa, who submits the new evidence to support Senator Chuchi's allegations: footage of the Imperial destruction of Tipoca City.

The senate is in uproar! But before Rampart can defend himself, a podium rises ominously from the center of the chamber carrying Emperor Palpatine and Mas Amedda into view. Faced with the evidence, Amedda calls for Rampart's arrest despite his protests that he was just following orders.

The Emperor takes the floor. In a scathing speech, he thanks Riyo for unmasking the traitor before seeding doubt about the remaining clones. "The fact that the clones under his command so blindly followed orders...gives me pause," Palpatine says. Swiftly, Palpatine lends his support to the bill on the floor and calls for a new era of security: the creation of the Imperial Stormtrooper.

Only now do Rex and Clone Force 99 realize they're still pawns in Palpatine's game. "We did the right thing," Omega says. But Chuchi's implication of Rampart allowed Palpatine to twist the truth to get what he desired — senate backing for the Stormtrooper initiative.

Riyo vows to continue fighting for clone rights and the Bad Batch take their leave. But as they turn to go, Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker say their goodbyes to Echo. Omega is stunned. "I'm going with Rex," he tells her. "The clones will need our help now more than ever." Tearfully, Omega says goodbye to her brother and joins the rest of the squad on their ship, clutching Lula to her chest.
