On Tatooine, Marshal Cobb Vanth confronts Pyke muscle running spice through Mos Pelgo. He allows one of the gangsters to leave, with a message that he won't allow the Syndicate to operate in his town.

The Mandalorian arrives on a lush world, and R2-D2 waits to greet him. When the Mandalorian asks to see Grogu, Artoo leads him to an opening where droids build the structure. After the astromech shuts down, Mando lies in wait.

Elsewhere, Luke Skywalker trains Grogu in the ways of the Force. He helps Grogu remember the past, in a flash back to Order 66 -- witnessing clone troopers betray Jedi. "The galaxy is a dangerous galaxy, Grogu," Luke tells him. "I will teach you to protect yourself."

The Mandalorian wakes to find Ahsoka Tano. "I'm an old friend of the family," she says. Mando asks to see Grogu and deliver his gift, but Ahsoka urges caution. Seeing each other could makes things more difficult for Grogu. Conflicted, Mando hands Ahsoka the gift and departs.

Grogu makes progress, and Ahsoka comes to deliver the Mandalorian's gift. Luke worries that Grogu's heart isn't in the training. "Trust your instincts," Ahsoka tells him before leaving.

The Mandalorian arrives at Boba Fett's palace on Tatooine. Fennec Shand briefs their group on the Pyke Syndicate's recent moves. Shand expresses a need for foot soldiers, and Mando has an idea.

Mando pays Cobb Vanth a visit. He asks if the people of Mos Pelgo, now called Freetown, will help in the fight against the Pykes. Though Vanth initially pushes back, he ultimately agrees to see what he can do. But when Mando leaves, a figure approaches from the distance.

Vanth meets the stranger. Speaking for the Pykes, the bounty hunter tells Vanth to stay out of the coming fight. When the marshal declines, they draw weapons in a duel. Vanth falls.

Meanwhile at the Sanctuary, Garsa Fwip's cantina in Mos Espa, Pykes sit down at a table. They quickly exit, leaving behind a camtono. Soon thereafter, an explosion rocks the establishment.

Luke sits with Grogu. He offers his student a choice: Yoda's lightsaber, or the Mandalorian's gift of armor. His selection will decide his path...
