While 8D8 briefs Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, local water monger Lortha Peel arrives seeking an audience. He claims that a gang -- with members who augment their bodies with mechanical parts -- has been stealing his inventory. He seeks retribution.
-
Fett and his crew confront the alleged thieves. They say that they cannot find work, and that the water monger has been gouging prices. In turn, Fett offers them employment -- and pays Peel a fraction of what he claims he's owed.
-
In his bacta tank, Fett again has visions of the past. He leaves the Tusken tribe to collect protection payment from the Pykes, only to be told that the Kintan Striders -- a group of Nikto marauders -- claim their territory.
-
When he returns home, Fett finds the smoldering remains of the massacred Tusken camp and the mark of the Kintan Striders.
-
Boba is awoken by the towering Wookiee gladiator Krrsantan, who rips Fett from his bacta tank! Following a violent battle, Fett's crew ultimately captures Krrsantan using an old palace trick.
-
Shortly after, the Twins come to apologize and offer a sizeable gift: a rancor. The Hutts say they will leave Tatooine, but only because this territory has been promised to another syndicate by Mayor Mok Shaiz. When the Twins decline the return of Krrsantan, Fett sets him free.
-
In the lower dungeon of the palace, Fett spends time with the rancor. He asks its keeper to teach him to ride the beast, and pets the animal kindly.
-
Fett and Shand pay a visit to the mayor. The visibly nervous majordomo says he will check if Mok Shaiz might be available, but instead sneaks away to his speeder.
-
Fett's new recruits give chase through the streets of Mos Espa and pin the majordomo. Confronted by Fett, he fearfully confesses the truth about the mayor. "He's working with the Pykes."
-
Later, the Pyke Syndicate arrives at Mos Espa. Shand believes that the spice traders are preparing for a war. "Then we will be ready," Fett replies.
