Fennec Shand delivers a captive assassin to Boba Fett. Following some creative persuasion, he names the mayor of Mos Espa, Mok Shaiz, as the one behind the attack.

Shaiz claims to know nothing of the attempt on their lives. Instead, he suggests they go to the Sanctuary.

At the Sanctuary, Garsa Fwip reveals that "the Twins" have come to claim their cousin Jabba's territory. The sound of drums announces the Hutts' arrival.

Fett and Shand meet the Twins in the street. Fett refuses to abdicate Jabba's throne, and the Twins depart with a not-so-veiled warning.

In a vision from the past, now accepted within the Tusken camp, he trains in the ways of the gaffi stick. But tragedy soon strikes, as sharpshooters from a passing train kill several members of the tribe.

Enraged, Fett promises the chieftain he will stop the train. He tracks violent marauders to a nearby cantina, making short work of the gang and taking their speeder bikes. "This is how we will stop the train," he says, and teaches the Tuskens how to ride.

When the train appears again, Fett leads the assault. Though the Tuskens suffer many casualties, they defeat their tormentors and stop the speeding vehicle. Afterwards, Fett addresses the surviving captives, members of the Pyke Syndicate, making it clear that they will pay the Tuskens for any future passage through the desert.

Back at the camp, the chieftain presents Fett with a gift: a lizard that will "guide" him. The creature crawls into Fett's nose, sparking a wave of hallucinations. When the suns rise, he returns to the camp with a large tree branch.

The tribe dresses Fett in traditional Tusken garb, before leading him to a workshop. There, Fett fashions his tree branch into a gaffi stick.

As night falls, Fett joins the Tuskens in a ceremony.
