As night falls in a sleepy village, the cries of a newborn suddenly ring out. The baby's father, Na'kil, joyfully runs through the streets, shouting "She's here!" Meanwhile, the mother, Pav-ti, cradles her newborn inside a hut. When the spiritual elder, Gantika, enters, Pav-ti announces her daughter: "Ahsoka."

Sometime later, Pav-ti journeys into the forest, carrying Ahsoka in a baby carrier. They partake in a hunting ritual, killing a kybuck with the goal of accepting death. But something else lurks among the trees...

Suddenly, a raxshir appears behind them! The ferocious beast attacks, and Pav-ti battles the creature in an effort to save her child. Though the villagers arrive in time to drive the creature off, it escapes with Ahsoka.

The raxshir takes Ahsoka to its cave. When it readies to eat its prey, the girl reaches out. Her touch seems to calm the animal.

Later that night, the villagers hear the sounds of a deep growl. Emerging from the dark is the raxshir, Ahsoka riding atop its back. Pav-ti reclaims her daughter, thanks the raxshir, and asks the elder how this could be possible. "Jedi," she replies. "Ahsoka is Jedi."
