Much to Team Fireball's surprise, Kaz has finished repairs on their namesake-ship all by himself. He acquired the necessary parts in a deal with Flix and Orka: while they're away on a trip, he'll watch their shop.
The opposite-personality shop owners brief Kaz before they leave to visit Flix's mother. In addition to instructions on care for their pet gorg Bitey and taking customers' money, they stress that Kaz not sell, touch, or look at anything in the back room.
Soon, customers begin to arrive, including the demanding Teroj Kee, who becomes angry when Kaz refuses to sell him a phase connector. Finally, he selects some other items and asks Kaz to deliver them to loading dock 23.
But it was all a trick! When Kaz brings the order, Teroj is waiting with a blaster. The alien locks Kaz in a crate, and commands it dropped into the ocean.
The shady Teroj goes back to Flix and Orka's shop. He cackles as he enters the back room, looking to steal the phase connector. BB-8 tries to stop him, but Teroj pins the droid beneath a fallen shelf.
At the loading dock, Kaz desperately tries to escape. Thanks to some quick thinking, he burns the lock away, grabbing onto the loading dock's cable before the crate plummets into the waters below.
Kaz tracks down Teroj and finds that he is in league with the First Order. Matters become more complicated when Teroj's ship takes off, however, with Kaz stowed away.
Kaz decides to bring the whole craft down, but he needs something sharp to cut through its wiring. Bitey the gorg proves to be the perfect tool.
As explosions rock the ship, Kaz makes it out on an escape pod -- with Bitey hitching a ride on top. Meanwhile, Teroj contacts Commander Pyre, informing the First Order enforcer that he failed his mission.
When Flix and Orka return, they're pleased that Kaz stopped Teroj, and explain that phase connectors are used to crack open asteroids and small planetoids for mining. Later, Kaz says he'll get a message to Poe that the First Order is after one of the devices; they could want it to drill more dedlanite...or something else.
