-
In need of work to survive, the Mandalorian agrees to be part of a mission for an old colleague, Ran.
-
Ran introduces the Mandalorian to his crew for the job: Mayfeld, a human and sharp-shooter running point on the mission; Burg, the hulking Devaronian muscle; Xi'an, a sly Twi'lek with a penchant for throwing knives; and Zero, a droid with exceptional piloting skills. Mando's ship, the Razor Crest, will also be used for the mission, although it wasn't originally part of the deal.
-
En route to their target, a New Republic prison ship crewed by droids, tensions are high on the Razor Crest.
-
Tempers flare before the ship suddenly drops out of hyperspace, sending everyone tumbling.
-
Having landed undetected, it's time for the crew to infiltrate the prison ship on foot. The Mandalorian makes quick work of security droids, but their cover is blown.
-
The group arrives at the control room where they unexpectedly come face to face with a human New Republic soldier; he threatens to engage a distress signal that will send troops swarming. Xi'an loses her patience and dispatches the soldier with a swish of a knife — but not before he activates the beacon.
-
Racing against the arrival of the New Republic, they make their way to the cell, and Xi'an reunites with her twin brother, Qin, the prisoner they came to rescue. The tables turned, they push the Mandalorian into the cell.
-
But thinking quickly, the Mandalorian soon captures a passing patrol droid and uses it to free himself. One by one, the Mandalorian picks off each member of the squad until he and Qin are alone.
-
Meanwhile, on the Razor Crest, Zero is tracking the Child. Just as the droid levels a rifle at the young one's small form, the Child raises his hand. With a thud, Zero's body collapses — blasted by the Mandalorian.
-
The Mandalorian finishes the job, returning Qin to Ran as intended. As the bounty hunter flies off, Ran gives an order to kill the Mandalorian, launching a fighter to finish the job. But Qin and Ran soon realize that the Mandalorian has left a parting gift: he planted the distress beacon on Qin, summoning a squad of X-wings. The Razor Crest escapes just as the New Republic pilots arrive.
