Three Trandoshan bounty hunters emerge from the shadows. They have the Mandalorian and the Child surrounded, but are no match for this seasoned warrior.

Night falls. The Mandalorian sets up camp, then tends to his wounds and battle-worn armor. Repeatedly the Child toddles over to him, until the warrior finally places it back in the pram and closes the cover.

Morning comes and the journey continues. But when the Mandalorian reaches the crest of a mud hill, he sees something: a sandcrawler has stopped near the Razor Crest, and Jawas have swarmed his vessel!

Spotted, the Jawas make a hasty escape and the Mandalorian gives chase to their massive transport. He climbs up its side and finally reaches the top — only to be blasted at point blank range. The Mandalorian falls backward off the sandcrawler, hitting the ground with a thud.

His ship stripped bare and with nowhere else to go, the Mandalorian returns to Kuiil's ranch. There, the Ugnaught suggests that he trade with the Jawas to get his ship’s parts back.

The Jawas initially demand the Mandalorian’s precious beskar armor as a fair exchange for his parts. Then, the Child. He agrees to neither as Kuiil tries to keep things civil. Finally, they land on a price: “the egg.”

The scavengers take the Mandalorian to the location of "the egg." The bounty hunter locks the pram in place and heads toward a foreboding cave. Inside, the Mandalorian finds himself eye-to-massive-eye with a mudhorn. The beast drives him from the cave, and following a brutal battle the Mandalorian accepts his fate.

But the Child somehow stops the mudhorn's deadly charge. The Mandalorian quickly kills the beast and secures the egg.

The Mandalorian returns to the Jawas and delivers the egg. True to their word, the Jawas return the parts to his ship. Together, the Mandalorian and Kuiil restore the Razor Crest to working order.

In space, the Mandalorian monitors the sleeping child, exhausted from its efforts.
