Seeking weapons, Rex leads Kanan, Zeb, and Ezra to an old base from the Clone Wars -- the site of a battle between the Republic and Separatists. Battle droid parts litter the grounds, and all is quiet.
-
Suddenly, ray shields activate! Battle droids, still functioning after all these years, take the rebels prisoner.
-
Kalani, a Super Tactical Droid, reveals that he prevented the droid shutdown command following Order 66. And now he wants Rex and the rebels to partake in one final battle that will decide the Clone Wars once and for all.
-
With Zeb kept as collateral, the rebels reluctantly agree. Rex devises their opening strategy, one used in the Clone Wars: the sword and shield maneuver. The Jedi will block while he fires. It gets them past the first wave of droids...
-
...until Kalani unleashes droidekas along with another round of troops. Ezra improvises and eliminates them, though Rex admonishes him for not following orders. This battle is personal for the old clone, and he needs to win it his way.
-
The rebels reach the command center, but another visitor -- the real winner of the Clone Wars -- will soon arrive: The Empire. Ezra convinces Rex and Kalani to work together, as they now have a common enemy. It’s also the only way they'll make it off the planet alive.
-
Battle droids roll out proton bombs toward the oncoming Imperial walkers and troopers. Their aim lackluster, the droids intentionally fire upon on the Jedi, who accurately deflect their shots in the direction of the explosives.
-
It works; two bombs are hit, a walker falls, and smoke rises. The droids and rebels have the chance they need.
-
Both groups make their escape in reserve shuttles.
-
In the aftermath, Rex thanks Ezra. He ended the Clone War where no one else could, finding common ground between clone and droid. Later, Kanan proudly tells Hera they don't need a pickup -- they have a new Phantom.
