Kanan meditates in the Lothal fields, and comes to an understanding. He asks Ezra to take the lead on Hera's rescue.

Meanwhile, Governor Pryce tortures Hera for the location of the rebel fleet. Thrawn enters the chamber for information on Hera's Kalikori, a Syndulla family heirloom. After he leaves, Pryce continues.

Ezra devises a plan. They will fly in on gliders, blending in with Loth-bats and evading Imperial detection.

After Ezra, Sabine, Zeb, and Chopper build the gliders, Kanan emerges with a new look. He's shaved his beard and cut his hair short. "Let's go get Hera," he says.

The crew takes off, making their way to the dome in Governor Pryce's offices. Thrawn, meanwhile goes to Coruscant to speak with the Emperor personally.

Hera refuses to talk, so Pryce tries another method: an interrogation droid. It injects Hera with a truth serum, inducing a state in which the rebel is more likely to reveal critical information.

The rebels make their move. Kanan cuts his way into Hera's chamber from below and frees her. He gives her the Kalikori, but Rukh, Thrawn's personal assassin, arrives. The Jedi holds him off.

Kanan and Hera get away on a Loth-bat glider, but are forced to crash land in the Empire's fuel depot. Sabine and Ezra, having commandeered a gunship, move to pick them up.

Hera tells Kanan she loves him. It's not the truth serum, she tells him. "It's me. All me." Finally, Ezra and Sabine arrive -- but Pryce, following in a walker, refuses to let the rebels escape. She orders the fuel pod destroyed.

The blast is powerful. Reaching out with the Force, Kanan holds back the inferno with one hand and pushes Hera onto the gunship with the other. Suddenly, his eyes become whole once more. Kanan, at peace, let's go of the blast, moving the ship out of harm's way as the flames engulf him.
