Sabine and Ezra scout an Imperial facility where they believe Sabine’s father is held captive. When the time is right, Sabine leads the charge.
Mandalorians of Clan Wren, Sabine, Kanan, and Ezra battle the guarding troops and their reinforcements. But it was all a trap.
Bo-Katan, a legendary Mandalorian, arrives with intel that Sabine’s father is not at this location. When Sabine offers her the Darksaber, Wren refuses, believing she is not worthy.
Sabine’s mother learns that the Empire is moving her father to the Mandalorian capital for public execution. The rebels devise a plan, and Ezra volunteers to locate their target and get him out -- even though he’s no expert with a jetpack.
The Imperials continue transporting their prisoner. Governor Saxon readies “the weapon” as more Mandalorian interference is expected.
Once again, Sabine leads the attack. She marks the transport holding her father with a purple-paint projectile.
Kanan leaps from transport to transport, eliminating stormtroopers.
Finally, Ezra slices his way into the vehicle holding Sabine’s father and frees him.
Sabine and her father reunite in a warm embrace. “You are my daughter,” he says.
But a terrible explosion erupts in the distance. The Empire has unleashed its weapon -- the device Sabine designed while enrolled in the Imperial Academy. And her mother and brother are missing.
Sabine's device is no ordinary weapon: it can destroy Mandalorian armor. Thankfully, Sabine's mother and brother emerge from the smoke, having survived the attack.
Suddenly, the Empire returns to finish the job. The rebels and Mandalorians fight them off.
Governor Saxon plays a recording of the attack to Grand Admiral Thrawn, showing how the weapon targets Mandalorian armor and vaporizes the individual wearing it. The Grand Admiral, however, is disappointed in the weapon's range. He wants Sabine Wren to complete it.
Bo-Katan charges Sabine. How could a Mandalorian create something like this? Sabine explains that she saw the weapon as a challenge and destroyed her work when she realized what the Empire planned to do with it.
Sabine devises a plan: they will infiltrate Saxon's ship to destroy the weapon and erase all data related to it. Bo-Katan is impressed with the young Mandalorian's leadership.
Aboard the Star Destroyer, Sabine and Bo-Katan reach the weapon. Saxon activates it, demanding that Sabine set it to full power or die. Sabine acquiesces and programs the machine.
Without warning, the weapon targets Imperial armor. Saxon and his stormtroopers crumble in pain.
Bo-Katan implores Sabine to stop. This is not the Mandalorian way. "Hope or fear? The choice is yours," she says.
Igniting the Darksaber, Sabine destroys the weapon. "For Mandalore," she says. The power core ruptured, they escape the ship before it blows.
"You have the wisdom of a ruler," Sabine tells Bo-Katan. The clans pledge allegiance to Bo-Katan; she accepts the Darksaber, uniting Mandalore.
