The rebels, Ryder Azadi, and some Zeb-loving loth-cats stake out the facility they believe houses the TIE defender prototype. After some time, the craft finally zooms overhead. It's impossibly fast.
-
The TIE defender lands at the base -- piloted by Vult Skerris. Sabine wants to steal the flight data recorder, housed inside the ship. She and Ezra make their way to the fighter, and loth-cats provide the distraction they need to get inside.
-
An unexpected visitor arrives, however: Grand Admiral Thrawn. He has come to inspect the TIE defender and observe a flight test. As Ezra watches, he spots something in the distance...
-
A large white wolf -- a loth-wolf. The beast looks at Ezra knowingly.
-
But in that moment, a stormtrooper discovers the Padawan, and Ezra finds himself on the run and spotted by Grand Admiral Thrawn.
-
Sabine takes the opportunity to commandeer the TIE defender, blasting the base and rescuing Ezra. Thrawn watches calmly and dispatches fighters to take on the prototype as a combat test, of sorts. After the TIE defender proves its mettle, the Imperials dismantle it remotely.
-
The craft crash lands, and Sabine and Ezra make it out alive with the hyperdrive -- a possible replacement for the non-functioning device in Ryder's U-wing -- and flight recorder in tow.
-
After traveling some time, the white loth-wolf appears once again. On its back is a white loth-cat. The beast puts Sabine to sleep.
-
With the Empire approaching, the loth-wolf transports the rebels back to their friends. But upon arrival, it disappears without a trace. Sabine has no memory of a wolf, and the rebels did not see it.
-
The crew, however, has both the flight recorder and hyperdrive, and Kanan believes Ezra's story: "All paths are coming together now," he says. In the distance, the loth-wolf watches.
