The stolen TIE fighter, which dates back to the episode “Fighter Flight,” was originally going be seen a few times throughout the series as a background project secretly undertaken by Ezra and Sabine. All references to it, including its actual survival at the end of “Fighter Flight,” were edited out to save time in individual episodes and also to maximize the impact of its reveal here.
-
The TIE fighter’s paint job includes icons seen on Sabine’s helmet, Kanan’s arm guard, Hera’s lekku, Ezra’s jacket, Zeb’s armor, and Chopper’s face -- thus making it representative of the team as a whole.

The Imperial Star Destroyer engine room is similar in look and layout as the Jedi cruiser engine room, which in turn was inspired by the engine room seen aboard the Super Dimension Fortress in the Macross anime.
-
One of the Rebel blockade runners seen at the end of the episode has blue markings inspired by a Ralph McQuarrie illustration of an A-wing fighter produced around the time of Return of the Jedi.
-
The Rebel crewman costume was based on Ralph McQuarrie illustrations of Rebels done for the original Star Wars.
-
Ahsoka carries slightly curved lightsaber handles that more resemble a weapon of a samurai.
