At an outdoor Imperial hangar on Lothal, Sabine distracts the stormtroopers on guard. She runs from TIE to TIE, taunting the Imperials, while Ezra and Zeb steal a freighter.
-
As Sabine escapes with her crew mates on the Imperial transport, the stormtroopers hear a ticking sound: the Mandalorian has planted explosives on the fighters.
-
The stolen transport will allow the rebels to get close to Mustafar, where the Empire has taken Kanan. He is being held on a Star Destroyer, surrounded by other Star Destroyers, and they'll need a distraction in order to board. Ezra reveals that the TIE fighter he and Zeb stole is still in their possession...
-
...but slightly modified, thanks to Sabine. Still, it will work: the Empire will only see the ship's strange paint job after it lands in the Star Destroyer hangar bay.
-
Meanwhile, the Inquisitor continues torturing and interrogating Kanan. He wants to know about Fulcrum, but the Jedi maintains that he knows nothing of a larger rebellion. In response, the Inquisitor recounts the death of Kanan's Master, and calls him a coward for running when she needed him.
-
The rebels arrive at Mustafar. Ezra reaches out through the Force, and connects with Kanan -- he's alive. With that, the Ghost crew remotely send in their TIE fighter, landing it in the Star Destroyer's hangar bay. The cockpit is filled with EMP-like explosives, which cut the power to the massive ship.
-
Seizing the opportunity, the rebels fly the transport to the side of the Star Destroyer and board.
-
Grand Moff Tarkin orders the Imperial fleet to clear out -- and send reinforcements.
-
The reinforcements arrive quickly, cutting off the path to Kanan's cell. But they're not blocked completely... Ezra, as he's done in the past, heads into a ventilation shaft.
-
Ezra arrives at Kanan's cell. "You shouldn't have come here," Kanan says. "But I'm glad you did." Weakened by his interrogation sessions, Ezra helps his Master walk...
-
...until they are greeted by the Inquisitor. The Jedi hunter smiles, ignites his lightsaber, and prepares for battle. Kanan looks at Ezra's lightsaber and says, "Let me borrow that."
-
He charges the Inquisitor, and surprises the dark-side user with blasts from Ezra's weapon. They duel intensely, faster than ever. Ezra spots Kanan's lightsaber on the Inquisitor's belt, and draws it to his right hand.
-
"At last," the Inquisitor says. "A fight that might be worthy of my time." The three battle, and after a moment, the Inquisitor throws his lightsaber toward the Padawan.
-
It connects, and Ezra falls from the platform. Kanan screams in anguish, but rises. "That was a mistake," he says.
-
Now wielding both lightsabers, Kanan seems calm. "I have nothing left to fear," he says. Again, he and the Inquisitor clash.
-
The rest of the team continues their escape. Sabine uses a smoke bomb to give them extra cover, and they head for Bay 5. As they run, Hera tries to contact Ezra over comlink.
-
He's alive, having landed on a walkway below. Hera's calls wake him up, and Ezra sees Kanan battling confidently in a way he never has before.
-
The Jedi slowly overpowers the Inquisitor, backing him toward the edge of the central platform. "Now I know there's something stronger than fear," Kanan says. "Far stronger. The Force. Let me show you how strong it is."
-
Kanan points his lightsabers inside the disc of the Inquisitor's weapon, and then pulls it apart. The explosion sends the Inquisitor tumbling backwards, and the two ends of his lightsaber careening down...
-
...into the Star Destroyer's engines. A massive explosion follows, and the room begins to collapse. The Inquisitor, hanging on, tells Kanan that he has unleashed something terrible today...
-
...and lets go. He falls, engulfed by the growing flames.
-
Ezra reconnects with Kanan, and they head for the hangar. Kanan tells the rest of the team to leave; he and Ezra will get out on their own. They spot the Inquisitor's TIE fighter. "He's not gonna use it," Ezra says.
-
But where are Chopper and the transport? There are too many enemy TIEs, and it's only a matter of time before destroy the rebels' getaway ships.
-
Finally, the transport, the Ghost, and a fleet of other craft emerge from hyperspace. They fight off the Imperials, and the rebels' TIEs dock with the transport before they all make the jump to lightspeed. They're all safe, but Ezra wonders: if Chopper was flying the transport, who was piloting the Ghost?
-
Senator Bail Organa greets them via holographic transmission, and Fulcrum -- a.k.a. Ahsoka Tano -- descends from the cockpit. "One chapter has closed for you, Ezra Bridger," she says. "This is a new day. A new beginning."
-
And with this new beginning...comes a new enemy.
