A shuttle carrying the two dead Jedi from the Devaron massacre arrives at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. A group of four Republic commandos -- Delta Squad -- unloads the coffins onto the landing platform and report there were no survivors on Devaron. Obi-Wan surmises the attack was carried out by a reckless, impulsive animal.
-
On Serenno, Dooku trains Savage Opress with a lightsaber. Dooku finds his new apprentice's skills sloppy and lacking technique, but vows to hone them with further training in the dark side.
-
Back on Coruscant, Yoda and Mace Windu show Obi-Wan surveillance footage from Devaron. At first, Obi-Wan believes the hologram to show Darth Maul -- but Yoda contends he is a warrior from the same species raised on Dathomir.
-
Dooku continues to train Savage. He demonstrates the power of the Force by raising several giant stone pillars, and commands Savage to do the same. Savage is able to lift them for a moment, but drops them, claiming the task to be impossible. Dooku attacks him several times with Force lightning to focus his apprentice's hatred.
-
Anakin and Obi-Wan arrive at the village of Dathomiri males. They leave their ship and are immediately surrounded by the village's warriors. Fending off their attacks, Anakin spots the leader and captures him, forcing the others to stand down.
-
Obi-Wan insists they only want to learn the location of the Dathomir assassin who attacked the Jedi on Devaron. Brother Viscus suggests they ask Mother Talzin, whose Nightsister clan claimed their male as a mate. With this information, the Jedi leave, and the warriors let them.
-
On Serenno, Savage has completed the first stages of his training. Dooku now orders him to Toydaria to bring King Katuunko back to him alive. Dooku has long wished to intimidate Katuunko ever since the Toydarian king rejected membership in the Separatist Alliance and pledged his loyalty to the Republic.
-
Obi-Wan and Anakin land near the Nightsisters' lair. Immediately surrounded by the female warriors, the Jedi surrender their lightsabers and are brought before Mother Talzin. Obi-Wan asks her about the Dathomiri male who killed the Jedi. She tells them the warrior -- Savage Opress -- is on Toydaria, prompting Obi-Wan and Anakin to make haste for the planet.
-
Talzin tells Asajj that her plot to use Savage to kill Dooku must be put into effect immediately. Though Asajj feels he is not ready, Talzin insists -- they can no longer keep Savage a secret.
-
Savage arrives on Toydaria, taking out the guards on the palace landing platform and quickly infiltrating the palace itself. He effortlessly takes out the king's guards and reaches Katuunko, who draws his sword in defense. Disarming him, Savage slams the king against a wall and slings the unconscious Toydarian over his shoulder.
-
Obi-Wan and Anakin arrive at the palace. When they confront Savage, Katuunko comes to and breaks away. Savage reaches out with the Force, choking the Toydarian king to death. Anakin and Obi-Wan pin Savage down, but he quickly breaks free and drags the king's body to an awaiting Separatist frigate. He uses the Force to push the Jedi ship off the landing platform. The Jedi will have to pursue in the royal Toydarian ship.
-
Savage lands in the hangar of a Separatist frigate. He brings Katuunko's body before Dooku, who is enraged that the king has been killed. He punishes Savage with a volley of Force lightning.
-
As Savage is hunched over in pain, Asajj Ventress appears. Dooku orders Savage to kill her. Ventress touches Savage's forehead, recalling the memory of his allegiance to her. Together, Savage and Ventress attack Dooku.
-
Anakin tracks Savage's ship to the Separatist frigate. They enter the ship's hangar and begin their hunt for Savage.
-
Ventress and Savage aggressively assail Dooku. Savage wins a brief advantage by disarming Dooku of his lightsaber, but is quickly repelled by Dooku's Force lightning. Asajj attacks Dooku, commanding Savage to rejoin the fight. Savage tries time and again to attack Dooku, but cannot repel his lightning attacks.
-
Savage finally finds his strength and attacks both Asajj and Dooku with a Force choke, hurling them against a wall. The three battle each other until Dooku escapes down a hatch, followed by Asajj. Savage is too big to follow.
-
Anakin and Obi-Wan have found Savage and engage him. On the lower decks, Asajj pursues Dooku and attacks him with her lightsabers. Dooku is able to deflect her assault and disarm her -- she is vulnerable. Using the Force to deflect a lightsaber blow by Dooku, Asajj retrieves her lightsabers and drops into an escape pod, jettisoning toward Toydaria below.
-
Savage is engaged in a heated lightsaber battle with Anakin and Obi-Wan in the frigate hangar. Dooku radios the commanding battle droid to destroy Savage Opress -- he is a traitor. The droids open fire on Savage, who uses a Force pulse to repel their attack. He breaks for his shuttle and escapes out of the hangar. Anakin and Obi-Wan board the Toydarian ship and flee.
-
Savage, injured, limps toward the Nightsister's lair on Dathomir. He finds Mother Talzin and reports of Ventress's betrayal. He fears he is not powerful enough to defeat Ventress and the Jedi.
-
Talzin informs Savage that he has an exiled brother living in the Outer Rim who can teach him how to become more powerful. She gives him a magic talisman to find him. In the glowing orb on the witch's table, the unmistakable visage of Darth Maul peers out.
