On Coruscant, Padmé prepares a banquet for Senator Aang, who holds the deciding vote on the Military Oversight Committee. She's determined that the event goes off without a hitch. Anakin reassures her that all will be fine.

Threepio, Padmé's head of protocol, coordinates the party preparations. He discovers the dessert cake is missing the jogan fruit garnish, an important detail that cannot be overlooked for this particular guest. Trying to ease Padmé's stress, Anakin sends Threepio and Artoo on a mission into the city to get the jogan fruit.

On the streets of Coruscant, Artoo and Threepio are watched by Cad Bane. He orders his droid accomplice, Todo 360, to follow them. Meanwhile, Threepio negotiates a price for four jogan fruits with a street vendor. As Anakin feared, Threepio is getting swindled.

Todo 360 approaches the two and begins talking up the pleasures of a nearby droid maintenance bar. While Threepio is reluctant to stray from his "mission," Artoo makes a line for the parlor door. Separated, Todo knocks Threepio into a waiting speeder and whisks the protocol droid away. The canister of jogan fruit is dropped in the street.

Artoo is welcomed to the droid spa. Multiple droids are undergoing cleansing treatments. Artoo excitedly dips himself into an oil bath.

A speeder whisks C-3PO to a secret location in the industrial part of the city. Suspended from the ceiling, Threepio is fitted with a restraining bolt by Cad Bane. The bounty hunter proceeds to electrify the droid in an effort to extract information.

Bane wants the plans for the Senate Building. His torture droid determines the protocol droid carries no information that is useful to them. Getting defensive, Threepio spouts off his interpreter droid credentials, admitting Artoo is the one who carries plans and blueprints. Before Threepio realizes his blunder, Bane orders an assassin droid to fetch the astromech.

Artoo exits the spa and spies the fruit canister in the street -- but Threepio is nowhere to be seen. He picks up the fruit and asks a nearby vendor if he knows where his buddy went. He doesn't. Just then, Bane's speeder lands and the assassin droid, accompanied by Todo, orders Artoo inside. Artoo knocks down a vendor's hut as a distraction to escape, dropping the fruit canister.

The speeder chases Artoo through the streets. Led down a dark alley, Artoo waits in the shadows as the two droids, now disembarked from their speeder, pursue. They bait the little astromech by hinting of Threepio's gruesome fate should Artoo not come out of hiding. It works. Artoo surrenders.

Back at Bane's hideout, Artoo is suspended and given the same treatment Threepio had received. Threepio watches helplessly as Bane downloads the Senate Building plans. He then orders the droids' memories wiped and dropped back into the streets. He can't have anything looking out of place.

Meanwhile, guests are arriving at the banquet, but there's still no sign of the droids or the fruit. Amidala greets Senator Aang. She asks Anakin where Threepio is.

The droids are flown back to the marketplace and Todo removes their restraining bolts. They have no memory of what has transpired. Threepio spots the canister of fruit and retrieves it. The two head back for the banquet.

Bane's starfighter arrives at Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine. He gives Jabba the floor plans of the Senate in exchange for his payment. Jabba now requests Bane's further assistance, although he must consult the Hutt council first. He clears the throne room of all except Bane and his interpreter droid.

The heads of the other four Hutt families appear in holographic form before Jabba. Jabba's interpreter translates their conversation for Bane: they are discussing how important Ziro's release is, as the incarcerated Hutt holds some dangerous information. Cad Bane introduces himself as the man to get the job done.

Back at the banquet, Anakin is getting anxious. Finally, Artoo and Threepio arrive with the fruit, which Anakin quickly sends off to the kitchen. He asks what caused the delay, but of course Threepio can't remember. The cake is ready, and Padmé praises Threepio for doing a magnificent job.
