Rain trickles down inside a great temple. An elder leads five children inside, who examine wet cobbles. As they describe what they see, the elder writes down a record. Young Ara challenges him, saying they must tell the Jedi what they know to help in the war against the Sith.

Years later, Ara meets with the Jedi Council in a warship. She says she was raised in the hidden temple of Dolgarak, which houses two large statues — one representing light, the other dark. "I believe if I go back there and cut off the dark head," she says, "it could change the tide of the war." The Council ultimately agrees, but will send a Jedi, Toul, with her.

Elsewhere on the warship, Toul sits in deep meditation and sees violent images of the past, as a Sith Lord called Bichan cuts down several Jedi, including his master. Finally emerging from his thoughts, Toul is sent on his new mission.

Toul and Ara head for Dolgarak, and neither is much impressed with the other. "Why do you need a Jedi to cut off a statue's head, anyway?" Toul asks. "I don't," Ara replies. "In fact, it would be a lot easier if you weren't here."

The pair make a stop at an asteroid marketplace so Ara can buy some supplies for the mission. While she shops, Toul senses something. In the distance, Bichan watches.

Back on their ship, Toul remains troubled, and with good reason: Bichan has followed them! The Sith opens fire and lands a direct hit. "It's been a while," he says. "What brings you here, I wonder?" Ara and Toul crash land on Dolgarak, and take off from the wreckage in a speeder.

Bichan leaps to the top of the vehicle, and Toul goes topside to meet him. As they duel, Ara speeds up one of the statues. At the last moment, Toul Force pushes her to the temple; he and Bichan soon join her.

While Ara runs off to finish the mission, Toul and Bichan face each other. "Come, give yourself over to the dark," Bichan says. "I'll never join you!" Toul replies. The fight continues.

Ara plants explosives around the dark statue's head, but stops as both heads illuminate with energy. Toul and Bichan soon reach the peak as well. But Ara has seen this before — in the cobbles of Dolgarak. She detonates the explosives, and though the head is not destroyed, the disruption gives Toul the opening he needs to end Bichan.

Toul begins to fall and Ara leaps to save him, with both landing peacefully in the temple. "Nothing is fixed. Light and dark will always co-exist," Toul says. "You know, we make a pretty good team," Ara answers.
