Wrecker and Omega scour a junkyard for a spare compressor. They find one, and seem to enjoy discovering old objects.
Back in Cid's parlor, Phee spots Omega's findings from the junkyard, and is drawn to a disc-shaped artifact. "These look like coordinate markings," she says. Her droid Mel confirms it's a compass from long ago. At Omega's urging, they agree to go search the location for treasure.
They land on the remote world of Skara Nal. The landscape is barren, and there are no signs of civilization. But suddenly, the compass activates, leading them south. "Let's go!" Omega says excitedly.
They come upon a mountain, and Phee thinks they're meant to go inside. "Look, it's a secret entrance!" Omega says excitedly. They go inside, but something lurks above.
Inside they find ancient markings. Phee believes they have located the entrance to Skara Nal, a legend that traces back to the ancients. It holds a treasure called "the Heart of the Mountain."
To proceed they must solve a puzzle, moving wall symbols into the right order. Their first attempt activates a booby trap, but Omega and Phee figure out a trick to solve the test. A door opens.
The group ventures further inside, and Omega asks what the Heart of the Mountain is. "A rare crystalized stone," Phee replies. "Some say it's the key to an ancient power, which makes it worth more than you could possibly fathom." Suddenly, something echoes behind them.
A large creature attacks from the cavern above, grabbing Wrecker! The hulking Batcher fights the beast off as the group opens fire, and it finally retreats. But rocks fall from the tunnel, and Tech, Echo, and Wrecker become separated from the rest.
After another close call, Omega notices a disc-shaped opening in the wall. Instinctively, she places the compass inside, opening the passage.
Finally, the entire group reunites. Phee opens one more door, winks at Omega, and they venture inside. "There," Phee says. "The Heart of the Mountain."
Sitting atop a platform, the stone artifact seems to hold a beautiful purple glow. Phee removes it, but not without activating something...
The floor rumbles and dirt falls from above as the room illuminates. A transformation has begun, and a giant moving structure rises from the ground, firing an energy beam.
Tech suggests they restore the Heart of the Mountain to deactivate it. Phee protests, but ultimately agrees. Before they can act, however, the creature returns! It attacks, knocking the treasure away. "You deal with that, I'll get the stone!" Phee says.
It takes some effort, but Phee recovers the item. Meanwhile, Wrecker gets rid of the creature as only he can.
Finally, they place the stone into the wall. The structure begins to explode, and the mechanical being falls. "This puts us at 0 for 2 in treasure hunting, even with a professional," Tech quips. "The treasure was real," Omega replies.
Though Mel perished in the destruction, Phee has backed up her droid's memory. "I'll have her rebuilt before we head to Vadnay," she says. She has a lead on an ancient chalice...
