    Coruscant Underworld Police

Though the deeper levels of Coruscant may be far from the prying eyes of clone troopers and police droids, some semblance of order was maintained courtesy of the underworld police. Completely swathed in the protection and anonymity of their leather and metal uniforms, with mechanical eyes poking through their fully wrapped heads, it's unclear if they were droids, humanoids, or something in between.

    Level 1313

Coruscant’s Level 1313 – so called because it was 1,313 levels from the planet’s core – was part of the galactic capital’s lawless underworld. Lever 1313 was a haven for bounty hunters, gangsters and other galactic scum, with the strong preying on those struggling to make a living. After she was framed for murder, Ahsoka Tano sought refuge on the lower levels.

    Police Droid

On Coruscant, local police divisions would not be able to patrol the vast reaches of the planet-wide city without the use of droids. These automatons are afforded programming that allow them to harm sentient beings when very specific operational parameters have been met - namely, the breaking of laws and the endangerment of citizens. These droids are beyond corruption and fatigue, though their rigid procedural thinking can be outsmarted. Automated security is particularly popular in deep space facilities, where organic crews are kept small to reduce the amount of life support supplies required.

  • Patrol Transport

    Patrol Transport

During the Clone Wars, security on Coruscant was bolstered with the addition of Republic patrol transports. Smaller, sleeker, and less heavily-armed than the military-grade Republic attack gunship, the patrol transport, sometimes referred to as the police gunship, was better suited to navigate the skyline and was less likely to cause costly collateral damage with its pair of ball-mounted laser turrets that flanked the cockpit, or the a fixed laser cannon that extended from the rear. Four arm-mounted solar gather panels helped power the repulsorlift vehicle. The control cabin had two stacked seats, with the pilot elevated and slightly behind the gunner. The troop bay had side doors that folded upward for entry, and rear ramp for rapid deployment of police forces. After the Clone Wars, the Empire made equally good use of patrol transports, using them to combat rebel threats from world to world.

    Coruscant

Coruscant is the vibrant heart and capital of the galaxy during the age of the Empire, featuring a diverse mix of cultures and citizens spread over hundreds of levels. Once the home of the main Jedi Temple -- the central hub of Jedi training and learning for over a thousand generations and the repository of the Jedi Archives -- these traditions ended when the planet bore witness to Order 66.

  • Tan Divo

    default

    Tan Divo

As a police lieutenant in the Coruscant Security Force during the Clone Wars, Lieutenant Tan Divo has a low-rate of success in his investigations, yet displays the pompousness and self-importance of someone who always gets his criminal in the end. Because of his arrogance, he often jumps to conclusions of guilt before a thorough investigation is conducted. Pride and his rigid by-the-book agenda get in the way of finding the truth, which in turn forces others to seek clues without his help.

  • Ahsoka Tano

    default

    Ahsoka Tano

Former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano once served as the Padawan learner to the Jedi Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. A respected leader and warrior attuned to the light side of the Force, Ahsoka grew into a formidable fighter before the Empire’s reign changed the course of galactic history. Although she walked away from the Jedi Order, she continued to stand up for those fighting for peace and justice in the galaxy long after the fall of the Republic.
