Cobalt Squadron

A talented pilot and gunner, Paige Tico operates the ventral guns on the Resistance bomber Cobalt Hammer. She fled the Otomok system and joined the Resistance with her younger sister Rose. Paige loves animals, particularly fathiers, and dreams of seeing one during some quiet period when the galaxy is at peace.

A maintenance tech with a talent for tinkering, Rose Tico joined the Resistance with her sister Paige after the First Order devastated her home system. A chance encounter with Finn pushed her onto the front lines of the new galactic civil war – and her sister’s death caused her to redouble her efforts for the Resistance cause.

The bombardier aboard Resistance bomber Cobalt Hammer, Nix Jerd hails from the Mid Rim world of Lantillies. His bomber flies into the teeth of the First Order’s defenses above D’Qar, targeting a massive Siege Dreadnought. As explosions rattle Cobalt Hammer, Nix keeps a firm grip on the remote trigger that will release the bomber’s payload.

To crack heavily armored targets, the Resistance called upon two squadrons of MG-100 StarFortress bombers laden with powerful proton bombs. The bombers were committed to another mission during the raid on Starkiller Base, but rushed back to D’Qar for the base’s evacuation. Escorted by swift starfighters, Cobalt Squadron attacked the initial wave of First Order warships to buy time for Leia Organa’s freedom fighters to escape. All of the bombers were lost, along with their crews, in this desperate mission.

Named for a legendary Mon Calamari commander from the early days of the Rebel Alliance, the Raddus served as Leia Organa’s mobile headquarters and flagship of the ragtag Resistance task force fleeing D’Qar. The MC85 Star Cruiser’s experimental deflector shields could withstand massive damage before failing. That innovation proved critical when Vice Admiral Holdo jumped the cruiser to hyperspace through a First Order task force. The Raddus was destroyed, but its sacrifice bought the Resistance time to escape to Crait.

A small, secretive private military force, the Resistance was founded by rebel hero Leia Organa to monitor the actions of the First Order. Most New Republic power brokers tolerate the Resistance while regarding Organa and her fighters as dead-enders with an unfortunate fixation on the past. Organa’s cash-strapped movement relies on credits, ships and equipment quietly funneled to it from the few senators who share her concerns. Resistance starfighters destroyed Starkiller Base, but the First Order’s retaliatory attack on D’Qar reduced its forces to a handful of brave freedom fighters.
