Following a tense pursuit, the Mandalorian and Cara Dune board Dr. Pershing's shuttle and take the Imperial captive. Next, the Mandalorian returns to Trask where he recruits Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves for the mission to save the Child. Bo-Katan makes it clear that she wants Gideon's weapon: the Darksaber.
-
En route to Gideon's ship, Dr. Pershing informs the group that a garrison of dark troopers -- the advanced droids that captured the Child -- is waiting. With that, they decide on a plan: Once they board the cruiser, Bo-Katan, Koska, Cara Dune, and Fennec Shand will lead the attack and take the bridge; the Mandalorian will follow alone, eliminate the dark troopers, and recover the Child.
-
They arrive in orbit of Gideon's cruiser. Bo-Katan pilots the stolen Imperial shuttle and sends a distress call; when the cruiser dispatches TIE fighters, Bo-Katan makes a desperate landing in the launch tube.
-
The crew emerge and begin to fight their way to the bridge. Meanwhile, Moff Gideon orders the dark troopers activated, and the Mandalorian covertly seeks out the droid soldiers.
-
As Bo-Katan's group continues through the ship, the Mandalorian reaches the dark trooper holding bay. After a brutal battle with just one of the droids, he jettisons the remaining garrison out the airlock.
-
Finally, Bo-Katan's squad takes the bridge and the Mandalorian reaches the Child's cell...where he finds Moff Gideon guarding the tiny being, Darksaber ignited. They battle, and the Mandalorian eventually bests the Imperial.
-
The Mandalorian, carrying the Child and with the Darksaber in hand, brings Gideon to the bridge. But Bo-Katan seems disturbed. To claim ownership of the Darksaber, one must win it in battle, Gideon explains.
-
Suddenly, alarms sound: the dark troopers have returned! When the platoon reaches the bridge, the mechanical terrors begin to ram the blast doors...until an X-wing arrives.
-
Emerging from the rebel fighter, a cloaked figure stalks through the ship before finally arriving at the corridor to the bridge. Wielding a green-bladed lightsaber, the warrior destroys the dark troopers methodically.
-
The warrior is indeed a Jedi, and has come for Grogu. "I'll see you again," the Mandalorian says to the Child. "I promise."
