The Mandalorian and Grogu arrive at Tython at the site of an old temple. The Mandalorian takes the little one to the seeing stone, where he is to reach out with the Force in the hopes of connecting with a Jedi. At first, nothing happens.
-
Without warning, another ship enters the atmosphere and starts to land. The Mandalorian goes to snatch Grogu, but he's activated an impenatrable energy field atop the seeing stone and is in a deep meditative state.
-
The Mandalorian goes to investigate and is stopped by warning fire. A scarred figure emerges, demanding the return of his armor -- the same armor that the Mandalorian was gifted by Cobb Vanth on Tatooine -- while his accomplice, Fennec Shand, trains her sniper rifle on the Child. They all agree to lower their weapons and talk.
-
Fennec, revealing cybernetic innards, explains that it was Boba Fett who found and saved her on Tatooine; meanwhile, Boba says that the armor he demands belonged to his father, Jango, and was passed down to him. In exchange for its return, he guarantees the saftey of the Child. Before there's a chance to debate, however, an Imperial transport descends.
-
Following an intense battle in which Fett, Shand, and the Mandalorian take on a relentless stream of stormtroopers, Boba retrieves his armor from the Razor Crest. He decimates the Imperial forces, making full use of his armor.
-
But from high above, a cannon blast rains down, destroying the Razor Crest in one swift strike. Its source: Moff Gideon's cruiser, which soon launches the menacing dark troopers.
-
The mechanical soldiers quickly ensnare Grogu and blast off for Gideon's ship. The Mandalorian and Shand arrive too late.
-
Later, Boba Fett validates that the armor he now wears belonged to his father, a Mandalorian foundling. Thus, the Mandalorian agrees that the armor rightfully belongs to Boba, but Fett promises that he and Shand will honor their debt and see the Child safely returned.
-
The trio goes to Nevarro. There, the Mandalorian meets with Cara Dune and asks her to search the New Republic database for an ex-Imperial sharpshooter named Mayfeld. They'll need to spring him from prison to help locate Moff Gideon's light cruiser.
-
Somewhere in deep space, Moff Gideon visits Grogu in his cell, taunting him. Gideon then commands that a transmission be sent to Dr. Pershing: They have their donor.
