Doctor Quadpaw’s extra set of arms were puppeteered from behind by two additional performers who rehearsed extensively to get in perfect sync.

The set decoration department employed a stylist for the creation of edible Star Wars food, including the Imperial sushi served on Aldhani.

Graphic designer Elle McKee created the hexagonal Imperial card game of Hex’el, used by the Imperial troops stationed at the Aldhani dam, as a last minute request, playtesting it at home the night before the shoot.

Visual effects artists referenced shooting stars, fireworks, long-exposure star trails, auroras, abstract expressionist paintings, and close-ups of human irises when creating the Eye of Aldhani.

The props department crafted thousands of individual credits to stock the Imperial vaults on Aldhani.

The celebration of the Eye of Aldhani was originally intended to include thousands of revelers, but COVID restrictions reduced the number of extras that could be on set. As a result, the storyline was revised to suggest that the smaller celebration was the result of the Imperial occupation of the Dhani’s sacred valley.

The Imperial pillbox design on Aldhani is based on turret illustrations by Ralph McQuarrie for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

The orange squares in Colonel Pettigar’s rank badge denote his engineering background.

Dr Quadpaw’s Quonset-like hut on the planet Frezno was photographed in the hamlet of Beedon Common in the English county of Berkshire.

As a mark of difference between the Republic and Imperial Senate, the new senate pods have the Imperial cog quite prominently displayed.

Visible in Luthen’s gallery in this episode are large Wookiee combat shields, first seen in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
