As a B-wing crash lands on the surface of an unknown planet, bandits race to plunder the ship. A Jedi, emerging from the wreckage, confronts them in battle before collapsing from a painful vision. Arrows fired by someone in the distance chase the bandits off.
-
The Jedi, named Tsubaki, awakens in a cave to find Princess Misa. He has come following an attack against her father and to aid Misa in defeating Masago, the Sith Lord hiding among the royal family.
-
Misa and Tsubaki begin a journey back to the palace accompanied by two guides. As the princess is now in exile, they need the guides to find a safe path back.
-
In the mountains, the group finds itself surrounded. Tsubaki discovers a path around, but the guides become frightened as the route is called "The Place of the Gods" -- claiming that those who enter do not return. They finally agree to carry on when the princess adds an extra 500 credits to their pay.
-
The journey is hard, and the princess realizes that one of the guides has been lost. Tsubaki finds him, however, and the group soon reaches its destination. The princess pays the guides for their service, and they bid their goodbyes. Tsubaki suffers from another vision, however.
-
The next day, Tsubaki and Misa make their way into the palace and share a quiet moment. But the Sith Lord Masago interrupts. "Well, well, princess," she says. "Did you think that by bringing a Jedi you'd be able to avenge your pitiful father?" Misa fires an arrow toward Masago -- the king's sister -- but she deflects it with a red-bladed lightsaber.
-
The Sith charges Tsubaki and they clash lightsabers! Meanwhile, her guards present the guides, beat up and battered. Finally, Masago tortures Tsubaki through the power of the dark side. "You will join me," she tells him. "It is your destiny."
-
As he struggles, Tsubaki flashes back to a conversation with his master. In it, Tsubaki tells of a vision of death, and that he must go to stop it. Though his master implores him not to leave -- that temptation could cloud his judgment -- Tsubaki does not listen. He rises in the present to cut down Masago's masked warriors.
-
He strikes with abandon and hate, but the final scream is familiar. He unmasks his victim to find Misa, dead by his hand. Masago offers a place at her side, and the power to save Misa from death.
-
Tsubaki kneels. "Please, help me save her, my master," he says. Together they bring Misa back. The princess awakens, and Tsubaki leaves with his new master.
