Synopsis: On the stormy world of Cheelit, Darth Vader engages in a chess-like game of Firepath with the enigmatic Lady Dhol. The game is but a distraction as Clat the Shamer, a gaunt and hooded member of the Guild of Vindicators, stalks Vader to exact vengeance upon the various horrible crimes committed by the Dark Lord of the Sith. The Shamer has the peculiar ability to draw upon deeply submerged guilt, causing it to surface in horrible suicidal urges. The Shamer works his dark magic on the stormtroopers surrounding Dhol's palace, but when he comes face-to-face with Vader, he finds the Dark Lord prepared for the confrontation. Six pages.

Choice Excerpt: "A smouldering corpse thuds to the puddle-shiny flagstones, and the spell that had held the other trooper is broken. But by then it is too late... By then the eyes of the Shamer are upon him. ...He remembers a young woman on the planet Lurr. And he remembers how she died, the wind rises to drown his screams, the shadows rise to drown his soul."
