Inside Old Jho's, Zeb plays a high-stakes game of sabacc with a mysterious patron. Confident in his hand but short on credits, the Lasat wagers...
-
...Chopper, much to the droid's protest.
-
Zeb shows his cards, and begins to claim the pot. "Not so fast," the stranger says. "It appears I have an Idiot's Array." Zeb is in shock, and Chopper is now the property of his opponent: Lando Calrissian.
-
Lando returns to the Ghost with Kanan, Zeb, and Chopper. He needs a ship to move some cargo past the Lothal Imperial blockade, and offers a deal: in return for transport, he'll pay the team and return their droid. They agree, though Hera is not pleased to hear that Zeb had bet -- and lost -- Chopper.
-
The smooth-talking smuggler explores the ship, commending Hera on her takeoff and admiring Sabine's art. Sabine is impressed with Lando's knowledge and flattered by his compliments of her work, which angers a certain young Padawan.
-
Finally, they dock with the Merchant One, starship of the slovenly crime lord Azmorigan. Lando is ready to make his deal with the gangster -- and offers Hera up for trade.
-
While Hera and Kanan feel double-crossed, the Twi'lek goes along with the proceedings. Back on the Ghost with his new cargo, Lando assures the crew that Hera will be fine; she's following the plan, and will take an escape pod. Kanan doesn't remember hearing anything about an escape pod, but the smuggler is confident.
-
As Azmorigan slobberingly eats, a repulsed Hera offers to serve him -- and uses the opportunity to strike. Making good use of a tray, she knocks him and a guard unconscious.
-
Hera runs from the gangster's quarters and makes her way, as Lando said, to an escape pod.
-
Back on the Ghost, Hera thanks Lando for the ordeal -- with a swift punch to the gut. "I deserved that," he says.
-
Unbeknownst to Lando, however, Zeb and Ezra have already opened the crate. A small, plump creature emerges, but it flees upon locking eyes with the large Lasat.
-
The creature is a puffer pig. Once Zeb catches it, and it becomes truly frightened, they learn the reason for the animal's name.
-
Moving past the Imperial blockade, Chopper brings the Ghost's signature modulator back online. But a bump from the puffer pig sends Zeb careening into the cockpit controls, disabling the modulator. The Empire detects the ship and gives chase, but Kanan uses cloud cover to double back and destroy the pursuing TIEs.
-
Finally, they arrive on Lando's property, which he bought from Vizago. He reveals that a puffer pig can detect more precious minerals than a dozen mining scanners, making it a valuable creature. It also can't be detected by the Empire, which has outlawed mining.
-
But before Lando can pay the crew, Azmorigan emerges. He demands the pig, Hera, the Ghost and its crew, and to bury Calrissian. Hera denies his terms, and the gangster opens fire.
-
The crew battles Azmorigan's henchmen, taking cover behind nearby crates...
-
...and Ezra reveals a nifty feature of his new lightsaber.
-
On Hera's orders, Zeb once again scares the puffer pig. The creature inflates, and its momentum sends it bouncing toward Azmorigan's men, knocking them out one by one. But Azmorigan remains, and he sneaks behind Zeb, pointing a blaster directly at the Lasat's back.
-
Chopper, meanwhile, had moved some of Lando's fuel onto the Ghost, and then absconded to the ship's gunport. He blasts the area near Azmorigan, giving Zeb the window he needs to gain the upper hand. Hera offers new terms: Azmorigan and his men will leave now, and she'll let them live. They agree.
-
With the ordeal over, Lando gives Chopper back to the team, but claims he doesn't have the credits he owes. Once the Ghost takes off, he confides to the puffer pig that he knew they took his fuel; that's why he didn't pay them. "A gambler never shows his cards," he says.
