On a lush green planet, a man with an oversized helmet called Valco and a young masked woman known as F survey the land and local custom. Nearby a young man, Asu, strains as he carries his bride, Haru, perched on a regal throne. According to native wisdom, Haru's feet must not be contaminated by touching the ground until they have reached the sacred pace of their vows.
-
The trip is arduous, but at last the pair reach a walkway surrounding a massive stone accented with red slashes. The lovers recite an incantation. "Rise, Magina!" they say in unison.
-
An energy surrounds the newlyweds and the onlookers, and the rivers seem to spring to life, a vision of the planet's own memories of the past, including the destructive forces that changed the natural world. In witnessing this transformation, F is reminded of her own master, lost in the Clone Wars.
-
Valco, her master's friend, tells the young woman of the Separatists who ransacked the planet's resources and left the world and its people helpless, another reminder of her own loss in the war.
-
Day turns to night, and the village gathers to celebrate Haru and Asu with a feast. But the jubilant occasion is tinged with regret. A villager tells Valco and F of their plight. After the war, opportunist marauders repurposed the droid army for their own gain. They plundered the land of what little resources remained and demanded the village chief as hostage.
-
Instead, the chief's granddaughter Haru agreed to go in his place. As the story unfolds, Valco keeps an eye on F, whose reaction is unreadable behind her mask. Haru's sister, Saku, is agitated, interrupting the festivities to challenge her sibling's reckless decision.
-
After a tense exchange between Saku and Haru, Saku leaves the wedding, vowing to take a stand against the intruders.
-
In the forest, F meditates by lifting rocks through the Force. She's not alone. Haru appears, suggesting that the Magina her people worship is the same as the power F exhibits. Although F has a bad feeling about what will come to pass, a warning felt through the mystic energy, Haru is resolute. Taking the hand of her husband, the newlyweds walk into the darkness.
-
In front of a roaring fire, Asu and Haru finish preparations that evening. "Let's end this together," he tells his bride.
-
As a new day dawns, F decides to take action. She slices through her Padawan braid and throws her mask clattering to the ground.
-
Meanwhile, Haru and Asu go to meet their fate. A gang disembarks from a freighter led by the pale-skinned Izuma. Haru does not intend to resist her captors, but soon they are joined by a surprising sight: Saku and other rebels are led from the bushes by battle droids.
-
To make an example of her, Izuma raises his blaster and fires off a shot at point-blank range. Onlookers flinch as the bolt singes the air. But when they open their eyes, it's hovering in the air and Saku is unharmed. From behind the newlyweds, F emerges, her hand outstretched in concentration before she sends the bolt back toward Izuma. He cries out in pain. "My hand!"
-
F reveals her scarred face and her intentions. "May the Force be with you," she intones. As Izuma orders his troops to attack, his droid army is picked off one by one by Valco perched high above with a sniper rifle.
-
Out of ammo, Valco whips his helmet into the air, deploying a secret weapon that lays waste to the enemy ship and renders to droids inert.
-
Enraged, Izuma takes Haru as his hostage. "What are you?" he asks F shakily. "I am a Jedi," she says, igniting a lightsaber with a yellow gold blade. A device in her shoes propels her forward with super-human speed. Before Izuma can react, she's severed his arm below the elbow, his blaster and the limb flopping to the ground harmlessly.
-
Afterward, F bids the villagers farewell and flies off in a starfighter.
