STEP ONE
Drawing lightly with a pencil, create a stick figure framework using basic shapes like circles and ovals to represent Maul's head, shoulders, elbows, knees, etc.
STEP TWO
Use broad, simple strokes to give shape to his body and clothing. Use lines down the middle of his head to help show where his eyes and nose will go.
STEP THREE
Now you can start to flesh him out a bit more. Add eyes, folds in his clothes, lightsaber shape, etc.
STEP FOUR
Focus on his head. Use simple lines to illustrate his mouth and nose, then give his horns some more detail.
STEP FIVE
The face tattoos are an important and fun part of drawing Darth Maul! Follow the markings shown in the example, and then add pupils to his eyes as well. Make sure he has a fierce, angry look.
STEP SIX
At this point, you should have a fairly detailed pencil drawing of Darth Maul. Just give his gloved fists a bit more shape and then illustrate his lightsaber handle. Once you're happy with how your masterpiece looks, you can go over your lines with pen or marker, or heavier pencil lines.
