Return of the Jedi Outdoor Screening and More Set For Celebration Europe

Return of the Jedi Outdoor Screening

In recent years, few have had the good fortune to see Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi theatrically. Even fewer, however, have seen it on the big screen, outdoors, and under the stars. Star Wars Celebration Europe attendees will get that chance this summer.

In a special Celebration Europe event, fans can attend a free outdoor screening of Return of the Jedi in honor of the classic film's 30th anniversary. The showing will be held on Friday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grugapark, right next to the Messe Essen. Food and beverages will be available to purchase in the park, and attendees are welcome to picnic while they enjoy the movie. Return of the Jedi was originally released in 1983, and was last re-released to theaters in 1997. Since that time, very few public screenings have taken place.

David Collins to Host the Celebration Europe Digital Stage

Celebration veteran and Star Wars aficionado David Collins will return to host the Digital Stage at Celebration Europe. Collins, who is an accomplished stage host, voice actor, and sound designer with significant credits to his name, will be showcasing the very best and most exciting video and sound presentations in Halle Essen over the three days of the show.

Known to Star Wars fans as PROXY in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game series by LucasArts, Collins also worked on Star Wars: Battlefront II, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, LEGO Star Wars, and Star Wars: The Old Republic while he was with the Lucasfilm video game company. Those who attended Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando this past August enjoyed Collins' uncanny Han Solo as he played the lead role in Kyle Newman's radio play Star Wars: Smuggler's Gambit, which was read live on the Digital Stage.
