Chalk Artist Eric Maruscak at Celebration VI

A veteran of Star Wars Celebration V, and many other pop culture conventions and live appearances, chalk artist Eric Maruscak will return to Orlando for Star Wars Celebration VI this August. Fans can stop by his work area in the Celebration Experience Exhibit Hall to check on his progress, as he completes a giant Star Wars mural. Starting when the show opens on Thursday, the mural will take shape every day, and be finished by Sunday afternoon.

At Celebration V, Maruscak revealed the first look at Savage Opress, the fierce new character and brother of Darth Maul who appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The finished mural measured nine feet wide and fourteen feet tall, and took 33 hours to complete. The other villains of Season 3 were completed first, and the mystery character, Savage, remained blank until Saturday.

Maruscak has appeared at conventions across the United States, creating giant chalk murals as performance art since 2006. His shows include New York Comic Con, San Diego Comic-Con, New York Anime Festival, Baltimore Otakon, Penny Arcade Expo, and Anime Central.
