Course of the Force Begins Saturday, July 7th

Jedi and Sith alike will revel in the latest Course of the Force announcement -- the schedule that will allow all Star Wars fans to plan for an epic event. Officials at Lucasfilm, Ltd., Nerdist Industries and Octagon are thrilled to present the stops for Course of the Force, benefitting Make-A-Wish, as it travels down the California coastline, July 7-11.

In the days leading up to the San Diego Comic-Con International, the relay, featuring runners carrying Hasbro's Ultimate FX Lightsabers, will journey to different piers and cities from Santa Monica to San Diego. Proceeds from Course of the Force will benefit Make-A-Wish. Course of the Force will be broadcast on the Nerdist Channel on YouTube and StarWars.com.

"With announcing the Course of the Force schedule, we're excited for the unique and interesting aspect each city will add to an already memorable event," Nerdist Industries' principal and Course of the Force creator and executive director Peter Levin said. "The cities, combined with the dedicated fans, Ultimate FX Lightsabers from Hasbro and Make-A-Wish, are guaranteed to make this an unforgettable Star Wars event."

On July 7, Course of the Force will kick off with an event at the Santa Monica Pier at 10:00 a.m. The relay will start later in the day and end that night at the Redondo Beach Pier. Other planned stops include Huntington Beach Pier, Oceanside and Crystal Pier at Pacific Beach. Instead of running, Monday, July 9 will feature special sponsor promotions, to be announced at at a later date.

The final day of the inaugural Course of the Force will conclude in San Diego at the Balboa Theatre, with entertainment to cap off the epic journey.

July 7 and 8 will feature a "Conival," a carnival-type event with expo booths, activities and entertainment. The Conival on July 7 will precede the start of the inaugural Course of the Force on the Santa Monica Pier. On July 8, the Conival will take place following the day's relays.

Fans have the opportunity to participate in the historic lightsaber relay through various promotions or by registering online now at www.CourseoftheForce.com. One hundred percent of runner proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish.
