Form I: Shii-Cho

The oldest of the Jedi fighting forms, dating back thousands of years when contained beams of energy replaced traditional metal swords. This fighting form is really an extension of traditional metal bladed techniques, covering the basics of attack, parry, body target zones and practice drills, which the Jedi call velocities.

Jedi study this most basic of fighting forms at a very early age. The younglings seen studying with Master Yoda in Episode II are undergoing beginner Form I velocities, with advanced applications for basic laser bolt deflection. Luke Skywalker undergoes the basic Form I training while en route to Alderaan aboard the Millennium Falcon. Kit Fisto was known to favor Form I as well.

Form I is also known as Way of the Sarlacc and the Determination Form.

The Mighty Bear Clan undergoes Form I training under the guidance of Yoda in Episode II.

Kit Fisto deflects an incoming blaster attack on Geonosis using Form I in Episode II.

Luke Skywalker practices basic Form I velocities aboard the Millennium Falcon in Episode IV.

Darth Vader executes a basic Form I horizontal slash against Cassandra Alexandra in Soulcalibur IV.
