The Women of the Original Star Wars Trilogy

The original Star Wars films may not have had the scope of the newer prequels -- the worlds shown are more backwater as opposed to the central systems showcased in Episodes I-III. Among the smaller crowds were a number of memorable female characters -- some purely background, others more significant. While Princess Leia is clearly the most recognizable of these classic characters, she is in good company with this assortment of supporting female roles.
