Hyperspace Frequently Asked Questions

Hyperspace has been discontinued. New subscriptions and auto-renewals to Hyperspace are no longer available. Some of the content previously available to Hyperspace users will begin to appear online.

   1. What is Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club?

      From 2004 to 2011, Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club was the Lucasfilm-run organization for Star Wars fans worldwide. Membership brought a benefits package put together by Lucasfilm for Star Wars fans, including a year's worth of special savings at offers at StarWarsShop.com, a membership card and kit, and more.

   2. What happened to all the original content that was part of Hyperspace? Is it gone for good?

      Originally commissioned expanded universe short stories, source material, and character biographies created for Hyperspace will be made available online after 2011, in a format yet to be determined. Other content may return, as determined in a case-by-case basis.

   3. What is Star Wars Insider magazine? Is it part of the Fan Club?

      The Star Wars Insider is a print magazine now published by Titan Magazines. You can purchase your subscription separately from Titan Magazines.

   4. What is in the membership kits?

      Included with the U.S. membership comes a member kit that was mailed to members that included a poster, a decal, a membership card, gifts and discounts from various Lucasfilm licensees, plus a welcome letter from Star Wars-creator George Lucas.

   5. Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my Hyperspace Access Code or membership to the new Fan Club?

2. Membership Kits
   1. I just subscribed to Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club. When will I receive my membership kit?

      For US residents, once your payment clears, you'll be put on the list to receive a membership kit when the next batch ships.

   2. How often do the Membership Kits ship?

      We ship the kits four times per year. Kits should be shipped with the first batch in April (tentative) if your account is paid in full.

      Why are the kits shipped just four times per year?

      We found that shipping quarterly was more efficient, and provided better customer service for our members.

   3. Do the kits ship every twelve weeks?

      No, not exactly. The first shipment of the year is determined by the time that all the components for the kit come together, and other shipments could be determined by significant events and spikes in membership later in the year. Batches of kits are shipped out about every 12 weeks.

   4. Can members outside the U.S. receive a kit?

      Yes, but it is not bundled in with the base cost of subscription. If your country is served by StarWarsShop.com, international Fan Club members can order a membership with a kit at a slightly higher price.
