Opening Crawl

War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count Dooku. There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere.

In a stunning move, the fiendish droid leader, General Grievous, has swept into the Republic capital and kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine, leader of the Galactic Senate.

As the Separatist Droid Army attempts to flee the besieged capital with their valuable hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a desperate mission to rescue the captive Chancellor....

Synopsis

Years after the onset of the Clone Wars, the noble Jedi Knights lead a massive clone army into a galaxy-wide battle against the Separatists. When the sinister Sith unveil a thousand-year-old plot to rule the galaxy, the Republic crumbles and from its ashes rises the evil Galactic Empire. Jedi hero Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the dark side of the Force to become the Emperor's new apprentice -- Darth Vader. The Jedi are decimated, as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Yoda are forced into hiding. The only hope for the galaxy are Anakin's own offspring -- the twin children born in secrecy who will grow up to become heroes.

As the Supreme Commander of the droid armies, cyborg General Grievous became an infamous threat, not only killing Jedi but claiming their lightsabers as gruesome trophies. His battling prowess is legendary. Able to dislocate his shoulders, Grievous can split his two arms into four spinning killing machines. While his military tactics are brilliant, his own pride gets in the way of winning against the Jedi in the end.

While Yoda is uniquely in tune with the Force and its disruptions, he cannot foresee the Emperor's rise and Anakin's betrayal of the Jedi. Yoda places too much trust in the prophesized ability of the Chosen One to restore balance to the Force.

Senator Bail Organa was the First Chairman and Viceroy of Alderaan, a hero of the Clone Wars, and the head of the Royal Family of Alderaan. An influential politician, he was a loyal Senator who commanded the ear of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself. He grew wary of Palpatine's increase in power, and allied himself to the Jedi Order in the final days of the Republic.

Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker

Proving himself during the Clone Wars, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker is the poster boy for the entire war effort for his bravery, skill and loyalty to the Republic. While praised by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and applauded by the Senate, he is still snubbed by the Jedi Council who refuse to promote him to Jedi Master status. The rejection angers Anakin and moves him closer to the side of Palpatine who manipulates his quest to save his wife Padmé from a painful death like his mother Shmi.

General Kenobi prefers negotiation to conflict. As a mentor to the impetuous Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan tries to balance his influence as both a teacher and friend. Obi-Wan worries about Anakin's refusal to surrender the past or his emotional attachments.
