Also known as an Impeding Assault Tank (IAT), the Umbaran crawler tank is a horrifying mechanical monster created by the advanced technology of the Umbaran people. The crawler tank is armed with blaster cannons, shield generators, and designed to have multiple redundancies to cope for heavy damage.

The ultimate Umbaran ground vehicle is the MHC, a mobile heavy cannon juggernaut. Propelled by six articulated legs, the heavily armored dome-shaped vehicle carries an immense plasma cannon.

Umbara came under assault during the Clone Wars when the planet seceded from the Republic to join the Separatist Alliance. The advanced military forces of the Umbarans were pressed into service defending the gloomy surface of their shadowy home world.

A single Umbaran soldier can operate all the systems of an Umbaran crawler tank from the confines of a ray-shielded control sphere. Umbarans have developed advanced holographic technology that allows them to control their weaponry with floating touch-panels made of projected light.
