Description
Debuting late in the Clone Wars was this powerful automated predator, a heavily armed and ray-shielded air support unit capable of wiping out infantry and armor units in relentless barrages of explosive ordnance. The underside of the gunship's flat fuselage carries two clusters of missile pods, and can be fitted with droid deployment racks for insertion and extraction into the heaviest combat zones.

Relationships
vulture droid
The most common aerial unit of the Separatist military forces was the vulture droid starfighter. While nimble and capable of deep space combat, these units were fragile, which made them of limited use in air-to-surface strikes.
hyena bombers
A heavier model than the vulture droid, the hyena bomber is better suited for strikes against fixed emplacements and stationary ground targets. Hyenas pack more explosive firepower than the droid gunship, but they are not as versatile.
Onderon
The earliest reports of droid gunships on the battlefield came during the Republic's support of the Onderon insurgency. To combat against this new weapon, the rebels turned to anti-aircraft armaments supplied by pirates.
commando droid
Elite commando droids used the droid gunships and travel and gunnery platforms. These nimble combat units could maintain balance and targeting accuracy while riding on the back of gunships.
Republic attack gunship
The droid gunship was the Confederacy answer to the Republic attack gunship, a low altitude heavily armed troop transport.
