Under the leadership of Duchess Satine Kryze, Mandalore has turned its back on its violent history. There is still an undercurrent of Mandalore's more martial past, however, and Death Watch has emerged as a painful reminder of Mandalore's warlike ways.
Duchess Satine of Kalevala became the ruler of Mandalore as the planet emerged from a long history of violence. She was committed to a peaceful renewal of the world and a neutral stance in the Clone Wars.
Prime Minister Almec handled the local affairs of Mandalore during the Clone Wars. He profited greatly as the planet suffered supply shortages.
Pre Vizsla was governor of Concordia, a moon orbiting Mandalore. The moon was the site of exile of Mandalore's warriors, who returned to plague Duchess Satine's rule as the Death Watch.
The Death Watch is a violent splinter group determined to carry on the warrior traditions of Mandalore's past. They were, for a time, secretly backed by the Separatist Alliance.
Tal Merrik served as Senator of Kalevala, a planet in Mandalore's system. He seemed loyal to Duchess Satine, but looks can be deceiving.
