Dathomir
World of Witches
Details
Description
A remote planet, Dathomir is drenched in blood-red light from its central star. The planet has continents overrun by twisted vegetation, with forests of bent trees burdened by large, cocoon-like fruit. Bordering dense swamplands is the massive stone fortresses of the Nightsisters, a witch clan capable of wielding unique magic fueled by the life forces of the planet. The Nightsisters kept to themselves, but had on occasion been known to offer their services to those who piqued their interests. Far from the Nightsisters lived the Nightbrothers, a tattooed clan of Zabrak warriors who dwell in frigid, mountainous villages. Though deadly combatants, the Nightbrothers were no match for the powers of the Nightsisters, and were subservient to their will.

Nightsisters
The Nightsisters can tap into the magical ichor of the planet, which flows from its depths as a luminescent green mist. Wielding sorcery unique to their clan, the witches had the power to compel and transform.
Darth Maul
Darth Maul was born on Dathomir as a Nightbrother before being transplanted from the planet of his birth to start the path that would turn him into a Sith Lord.
Mother Talzin
Mother Talzin commands the Nightsisters of Dathomir. She rarely ventures off-planet, able to command her multi-layered conspiracies from the depths of her lair.
Asajj Ventress
Asajj Ventress hailed from Dathomir, but was traded to slavers from Rattatak in exchange for Dathomir's continued security. After being abandoned by Count Dooku, Ventress returned to Dathomir to reclaim her Nightsister heritage.
General Grievous
Seeking vengeance, Count Dooku ordered General Grievous to lay waste to Dathomir and massacre the Nightsister clans. To that end, Grievous launched a destructive campaign against the witches.
Savage Opress
Savage Opress was once a simple, able-bodied Nightbrother fighting the protection of his kin against the Nightsisters. Mother Talzin transformed Opress into a monstrous warrior.
Old Daka
Old Daka was the oldest and wisest of the Nightsisters, and keeper of the most ancient and powerful ore of Dathomir.
