Tee Watt Kaa's tribe of Lurmen landed on Maridun -- an uncharted world -- to escape the bloodshed and violence of the Clone Wars. Tee Watt Kaa believed in non-violence and non-aggressive solutions. The Lurmen colonists carved out a peaceful existence on the plains of Maridun, harvesting enormous seedpods to use as shelter, extracting vital oils within for nourishment and medicine.
Ahsoka Tano befriended the Lurmen when she and her fellow Jedi were marooned on Maridun. Lurmen healers helped tend to her master, Anakin Skywalker, who had suffered injuries in battle.
Lurmen healers used their oils and herbs to help mend Anakin's injuries upon his arrival to Maridun. He returned the favor, leading the defense against the Separatist advance on the defenseless Lurmen village.
Aayla Secura tried to rally the Lurmen to defend their home against the Separatists, but was rebuffed by elder Tee Watt Kaa, who believed firmly in pacifism. Faced with the reality of Separatist domination, however, many of the younger Lurmen took up arms.

The Lurmen were able to take farming implements, ropes and nets to outmaneuver the encroaching battle droid army, ending the Separatist threat to their village.
The innocent Lurmen were in the line of fire of the DDT firing tests. These specialized vehicles -- Defoliator deployment tanks -- could launch the destructive weapon great distances.
