When the Clone Wars erupted, many in the Senate and Jedi Order suspected Rush's loyalty to the Republic. It was believed that the Banking Clan was secretly funding the Separatists.
To ascertain Rush Clovis' true loyalty and the Banking Clan's connections to the Separatists, the Jedi Council asked Padmé Amidala to rekindle her friendship with Clovis on a diplomatic mission to Cato Neimoidia.
Dod had a very close working relationship with Rush Clovis of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, as the commerce entity helped finance many Trade Federation and secret Separatist projects.
Anakin Skywalker escorted Padmé Amidala to Cato Neimoidia, where she was attempting to ferret information out of Rush Clovis regarding his activities with the Separatists. Anakin was very uncomfortable with the idea of his wife working so closely with a former flame.
After the Separatists had regained control of Geonosis, Poggle the Lesser made a deal with the Banking Clan and the Trade Federation to fund a new weapons factory. On Cato Neimoidia, Poggle met with Banking Clan representative Rush Clovis and argued that he deserved a larger cut of the profits but Clovis refused to re-negotiate.
