Description
Rupings are graceful, powerfully built reptavians native to the jungles of Onderon. These lean, well-muscled creatures have immense leathery wings that span the length of their rangy arms. Quadrocular vision and sensitive ears make a ruping keenly aware of its surroundings. Jungle-dwelling Onderonians have domesticated the rupings as beasts of transport. Historically, these people have been outcasts from the walled civilization centers of Onderon, and rupings are essential for transport and escape from the dangers of the dense jungle underbrush. Rupings nest in flocks atop the highlands of the Onderon wilderness.

An ancient world, much of Onderon is covered by dense canopy jungle that has led to the rise of a diverse array of native creatures. The dangers of the untamed jungles led the Onderonian civilization to build immense walled cities for protection.
Onderon rebels
When Onderon sided with the Separatist Alliance as the result of a puppet king controlled by the Confederacy, an insurgency resulted, led by patriots who refused to recognize the legitimacy of the monarch. These rebels operated out of ruins outside the city walls, and relied on native beasts like the ruping for transport.
Saw Gerrera
Saw Gerrera was a fiercely devoted freedom fighter who opposed the rule of King Sanjay Rash and the influence of the Separatists on Onderon. He was a skilled warrior and beast-rider, who flew a ruping into the thick of battle.
Steela Gerrera
An idealist and tireless supporter of Onderonian independence, Steela Gerrera came to lead the Onderon rebels during the Clone Wars. She had a close bond to her ruping mount, and it would plunge into danger to save its rider.
droid gunship
Agile and loyal, rupings proved no match for the relentless firepower carried by the droid gunships of the Confederacy. These automated fliers could shred a ruping and its rider to ribbons with its onslaught of missile salvos and laser cannons.
