The Queen of Zygerria, Miraj Scintel longs for a return to glory for her people. Ages ago, the Zygerrian Slave Empire stretched across many sectors, supplying luckless labor to unscrupulous masters in the galaxy. Scintel takes advantage of a Republic distracted by war to grow the slave trade, allied by the Separatist Alliance. When Anakin Skywalker goes undercover to infiltrate Scintel's court, and discover the whereabouts of a vanished colony of Togruta artisans, the wily Queen takes interest in him. She sees in Anakin a prize to own and overpower, and uses her seductive charms to her full advantage.
Anakin Skywalker poses as Lars Quell, a mercenary who has disposed of one the Queen's hated enemies, Bruno Denturri. Though Queen Miraj doesn't wholly believe Anakin's story, she is nonetheless intrigued by the handsome young Jedi.
As Lars Quell, Anakin presents Queen Miraj with a worthy gift -- a slave girl, supposedly the best of the lot plucked from the late Bruno Denturri's collection. Ahsoka poses as the slave, though her acting is nowhere near as fine-tuned as her Jedi abilities.
Queen Miraj has allied herself with Count Dooku in a bid to restore Zygerria to its former glory. Though she is devious and crafty, she underestimates Dooku's own duplicity.
Like Zygerria itself, Queen Miraj Scintel possesses an outward beauty that conceals a darkness within. Queen Miraj rules from a royal palace guarded by fortress walls, which sits atop a lofty mesa.
Serving under the Queen is the Prime Minister of Zygerria, Atai Molec. Molec concerns himself more with the actual running of Zygerrian operations, and is secretly wary of the Queen's complex machinations.
