General Grievous is a brilliant military strategist who can't be bothered with compassion or mercy. His lightning strikes and effective battle planning made him infamous in the eyes of a frightened Republic. A twisted melding of flesh and metal, General Grievous' body is a deadly weapon. Grievous' living matter was encased within his precision-engineered artificial body; inside the hardened shell beat the heart of a remorseless killer. A pressurized gut-sack held his vital organs, while his skull-like mask contained his living eyes and brain. Each of his six-fingered arms could split in two, resulting in an array of four limbs, each armed with a lightsaber that he would take as a grim trophy of his victims. Grievous could spin these arms in a whirling storm of deadly light. For all his imposing image, Grievous is a coward at heart. Only with opponents he believes he can defeat does he enter into combat. His hacking cough and thirst for winning every battle at any cost made him Enemy Number One in the eyes of the Jedi Council.
As constant foes throughout the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan and General Grievous finally dueled their last battle on the planet Utapau, where, after being disarmed of his lightsaber, Obi-Wan finished off the Separatist general with Grievous' own blaster.
Grievous had received training in the Jedi arts from Count Dooku, and was often deployed for difficult missions by the Sith Lord throughout the Clone Wars.
General Grievous faced off with Kit Fisto on a Vassek moon, the home of the general's personal lair. After slaying Fisto's former apprentice, Nahdar Vebb, Fisto engaged Grievous in a heated lightsaber battle before escaping aboard his personal starship.
During a space battle with General Grievous' warship, Koth was taken prisoner. The evil Grievous proudly broadcast his victory over Koth directly to the Jedi Temple, prompting a rescue mission undertaken by the Jedi.
General Grievous hardly hides his disdain for Separatist battle droids, who he is forced to command on his many missions throughout the Clone Wars. Often frustrated with the droids' insipid tactical sense and capabilities, many-a-battle-droid has found itself the unfortunate victim of Grievous' violent temper.
