A proud Zygerrian, Darts D'Nar longs for the days when Zygerria is once again an influential power in the galaxy. He believes an alliance with Count Dooku and the Separatists is a step in the path towards rebuilding this former glory, though he is often impatient at the Count's indirect means. To D'Nar, power not flexed is power wasted.
With relish, he supervises the conquest of Kiro, and the forced relocation of thousands of Togruta colonists. His devious mind concocted the explosive insurance plan of hiding bombs throughout the colony, to keep the hated Jedi distracted and give him authority over their attempts at negotiation.
A powerfully built Zygerrian, Darts D'Nar is a master of the electro-whip. He treats slaves as he does the beasts of his growing menagerie -- as curious trophies to be proudly displayed.
The artisan colony of Kiros was home to tens of thousands of gentle Togrutas. They were defenseless when the Separatists arrived, and forced their brand of "protection" onto the planet. Darts D'Nar wasted no time moving into the governor's tower on the besieged planet.
Obi-Wan Kenobi met with D'Nar to negotiate terms for a peaceful settlement of the Kiros invasion. D'Nar threatened to detonate bombs throughout the Kiros colony, so Obi-Wan surrendered to him. The wily Jedi offered to fight, fist-to-fist, with the Zygerrian in the manner of their traditions. D'Nar relished the opportunity to clobber a Jedi Knight.
Darts pilots a stout starship called the Tecora. Its articulated thrusters propel the massive craft through air and space, hauling a spacious cargo hold filled with unwilling, living travelers.
Though Darts saw value in the alliance with the Separatists, he thought Dooku used too delicate and manicured a hand in his dealings. Darts would have killed Kenobi, had Dooku not insisted the Jedi be taken alive.
Darts' menagerie contains a wide variety of living, unintelligent creatures, but none so terrifying as the tentacled blixus. Pursued by the Jedi, Darts unleashed the blixus on Ahsoka and Anakin when the Republic interlopers infiltrated the hold of his starship Tecora.
