Captain of the Avenger
Details
Captain Needa commanded the Avenger, one of the Imperial Star Destroyers that fought for the Empire at the Battle of Hoth. His ship pursued the fleeing Millennium Falcon, but the freighter escaped under mysterious circumstances. Baffled but contrite, Needa decided it was his duty to apologize to Darth Vader for losing the ship.

Hoth
Needa and his warship performed well at the Battle of Hoth, attacking Rebel transports trying to escape into space from the Rebel stronghold. But the aftermath of the battle was not a happy one for the Avenger's captain.
Millennium Falcon
Needa's Star Destroyer pursued the Millennium Falcon through the fringes of the Hoth asteroid field, and seemed certain to capture or destroy the freighter. But she escaped, leaving a puzzled Needa wondering if the ship had hidden itself with a cloaking device.
Darth Vader
Needa feared Darth Vader, but assumed the Sith Lord understood mistakes happen during space combat, and valued the service of veteran Imperial officers such as himself. This assumption proved tragically incorrect.
