An assassin trained in the ways of the dark side by Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress yearned to be considered a true Sith, but such status wasn't allowed under the Sith's Rule of Two. Ventress fought with twin sabers, and clashed with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker many times.
Ventress served Dooku faithfully, but the Count betrayed her as a demonstration of loyalty to Darth Sidious, telling his own troops to turn their guns on her. She returned to Dathomir, where she sought revenge with the help of her people, the mysterious Nightsisters.
Asajj Ventress loyally served her master, Count Dooku. She aspired to be a Sith Lord, and his secret apprentice. However, when Darth Sidious grew wary of Asajj's abilities and feared that Dooku might be plotting a move against him, Sidious ordered Asajj eliminated. It was an act of cold betrayal that Dooku turned his back on Asajj.
Asajj has long enjoyed a peculiar relationship with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Though as a Jedi Knight, he is her sworn enemy, the two engage in banter as they cross lightsaber blades. There is an unusual attraction that connects the two combatants, but their encounters rarely last long enough for further exploration.
Asajj Ventress was born to the order of witches known as the Nightsisters of Dathomir. When she was abandoned by Count Dooku, she returned to the Nightsisters, seeking their help, and inadvertently sealed their fate when Dooku launched a devastating attack that wiped out their order.
Savage Opress was to be the instrument of Asajj's vengeance against Dooku. Ventress hand-selected a worthy warrior from the men of Dathomir, and the Nightsisters transformed him into a monstrous Sith apprentice. Opress then served under Count Dooku, all the while remaining loyal to the Nightsisters, who planned to use him to betray Dooku.
While with the Separatist Alliance, Asajj would on occasion work side-by-side with General Grievous. The two underlings despised each other, and would cross blades when Dooku ordered the elimination of the Nightsisters.
Abandoning her past, Asajj Ventress became a bounty hunter. Keeping her name a secret, she worked for Boba Fett on an assignment to protect a precious cargo on Quarzite, though she did not like working for someone so young and inexperienced.
The precious cargo that Ventress was to deliver turned out to be a captive girl, Pluma Sodi, who was to be given to a ruthless warlord as an unwilling bride. Sympathetic to Pluma's fate, Ventress swindled the warlord out of payment and set Pluma free.
Mother Talzin welcomed Asajj Ventress back into the order after her betrayal by Count Dooku. Talzin actively wanted to cultivate Ventress's hatred and plans for vengeance.
Asajj Ventress hailed from Dathomir, but was traded to slavers from Rattatak in exchange for Dathomir's continued security. After being abandoned by Count Dooku, Ventress returned to Dathomir to reclaim her Nightsister heritage.
