It was our first introduction to the cyborg supreme commander of the Separatist Droid Army, and it's a memorable one. In chapter 20 of the first batch of Clone Wars micro-series cartoons, a group of Jedi is stranded on Hypori, well behind enemy lines and surrounded by battle droids. Grievous has his advancing forces hold off, and he alone marches into the fray to personally dispatch the Jedi.
Grievous' every move is accompanied by the pained noise of strained metallic springs, as if his limbs are coiled traps ready to be tripped. The sound of his approach cause the normally serene Jedi to break out in cold sweats. Despite Ki-Adi-Mundi's entreaties for calm, rookie Padawan Sha'a Gi panics and bolts, to be pounced upon by the droid general.
