Dud Bolt's blocky Vulptereen 327 may not have been the fastest Podracer in the Boonta Eve Classic, but its sturdy build has survived many a wallop, given Bolt's aggressive racing style.

From the Expanded Universe

Bolt worked as Sebulba's midair bodyguard, crashing into other racers to give the nasty Dug a better chance at winning. In return, Dud received a cash bonus for every crash he caused.

During the Boonta Eve Classic, Dud pressed his luck one too many times as his Podracer did not survive a tangle with Ark "Bumpy" Roose during the third lap. Dud had to spend time in a Mos Espa med center after the race.

The Vulptereen 327 (identified as the RS 557 in some racing manuals) had great traction, which allowed Bolt to maintain control during his bullying maneuvers. However, it had extremely poor engine ventilation, and lousy acceleration. It could achieve a top speed of 760 kilometers per hour.
