Clegg Holdfast piloted one of the largest Podracers in the Boonta Eve Classic race. Thanks to some chicanery courtesy of Sebulba, Holdfast also piloted one of the largest fireballs in the race. In the second lap, Sebulba used his Podracer's retractable flame emitter to roast Holdfast's engines, which sent the pompous pilot into a crash. Fragments of Holdfast's Volvec KT9 Wasp were salvaged by scavenger droids.

What he lacked in skill, Holdfast made up for in technical assets. His Keizar-Volvec KV9T9-B Wasp (its full name) was one of the best vehicles on the track during the Boonta Eve Classic. It boasted exceptional traction, handling and acceleration. While its top speed was average (about 800 kilometers-per-hour), it had lackluster braking ability. Clegg's cockpit featured a winged design and a protective canopy over his command chair.

Behind the Scenes

New effects footage created specifically for the Episode I DVD reveals the fate of Clegg's Podracer. During production, the vehicle was known as Podracer 'G' due to its position in the starting grid.
